The Machining Process
Revealing some of the behind the scene footage of the machining processes
Here we have the mounting base of the reel which houses the main shaft bearings.
The second shaft connects to the main shaft. The outer end plate and the handle are attached to the reel with this part. It is fully bored out in the center with a hash mark to line up to the main shaft. It features an opening that allows the welding lead, oxyacetylene hoses, welder remote and extension cord cables, air, propane and shielding gas hoses to be exit from the main shaft and wrap onto the reel. All of our reels are built from an array of common parts that are the same on every reel. The main shaft and the end cap are what make each reel unique.
The end plates are machined anodized and then laser etched
